Thank you for being part of Dr. Dwinnells’ climb up the 8,366 ft. Mount St. Helens.
This campaign will raise funds to help support children who suffer from childhood trauma such as physical, sexual, emotional and verbal abuse. ACE’s (Adverse Childhood Experiences) is a term commonly used to describe these occurrences. Children who live in dysfunctional households are often described in this group as well.
The implications are that these kids grow up to have a much higher incidence of depressions, suicide rates, mental illness as well as chronic disease problems such as diabetes.
If these children, who are at risk, can be identified early on then interventions can begin earlier and perhaps more kids will not have to suffer from a lifetime of afflictions but lead productive and happy lives.
Dr. Dwinnells, The Butterflies and Hope Memorial Foundation and ONE Health Ohio want to support programs that will perform research on this topic; that will provide intervention strategies and that will improve the lives of these deserving kids.
The Butterflies and Hope Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt, charitable organization. Contributions from our donors are tax deductible.
